National Reading Day (Nur-ll)

Reading plays a crucial role in the classroom as it helps improve Language Development, Critical Thinking, Cultural Awareness as well as Communication Skills. Proficiency in reading is foundational for success across all subjects. Students who read well can understand instructions, grasp concepts, and perform better on assessments.

National Reading Day honours P.N. Panicker, who ignited a love of reading in India. Nicknamed the "Father of Reading". DPS TAPI Celebrated National Reading Day on 19 June 2024, Each class from Nursery to II took up various activities that would help cultivate reading habits and enhance lifelong learning and curiosity, essential for personal and professional growth.

Students of Class Nursery played a game of letter identification and what's the letter of their classmates. This helped learners to be communicative and share peer information.

Class Prep used the classroom library resources like Flip Flop book and Flashcards to do English and Hindi words reading. By this activity students' awareness about phonic sounds and letters were highlighted, so as to achieve an important milestone for young readers.

Classes I and II, used the medium of PPT and school Library to make this activity engaging and fruitful. Students actively participated in these activities by reading aloud in class and explored library story books of their choice.

In essence, reading in the classroom not only supports academic goals but also enriches students' overall development.
