National Reading Day (lll-V)
National Reading Day is celebrated every year on 19 June to honour the legacy of the late P.N. Panicker, the father of the Library Movement. The Board has planned to attempt the Guinness World Record for “the most children reading at one time” on 19 June 2024. The students at DPS Tapi celebrated it in very interesting ways. Classes III-V engaged themselves with diverse reading materials such as stories, articles and passages from various books, newspapers and magazines. Class III students visited the library and explored it to the maximum extent, Class IV had a storytelling session and also reading of different books and Class V students visited the junior classes and read out a story for them. All this had a positive impact of enhancing the reading skills as well as cultural awareness. Thus, achieving the primary goal to foster a love for reading and instill good reading habits from an early age.
