Welcome Activities

The Academic Year 2025-26 commenced with a series of carefully designed welcome activities for students of Classes III-V aimed at creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere, alleviating first-day anxiety, facilitating new friendships, introducing collaborative learning, and establishing a positive classroom culture.

Class III students played the Passing the Ball game where students formed a circle and threw a ball to one another. Upon receiving the ball, each student introduced themselves. Next, they played Fruit Frenzy Dodgeball, a modified game combining physical activity with strategic planning. Lastly, they played Four Corners (Fire in the Mountain). This activity effectively developed listening skills, quick thinking, and cooperation.

Class IV students engaged in a partner drawing game - a collaborative art activity designed to build teamwork and creativity. This activity fostered communication and adaptability as students built upon each other's ideas. Following the art activity, the students participated in a lively Categories Race. The class was divided into small groups, and the teacher called out various categories (such as "Types of Fruit," "Sports," "Animals"). Each group quickly wrote down as many examples as they could within one minute, with the team recording the most unique answers declared the winner for that round. This game encouraged quick thinking, teamwork, and knowledge sharing.

Class V played Classroom Bingo, where students completed cards by finding classmates who matched various descriptions; This activity effectively encouraged movement and conversation, allowing students to discover commonalities with their peers. Next, they played the Line-Up Challenge, where students arranged themselves in order according to various criteria without verbal communication.

The welcoming and ice-breaking activities proved highly effective in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Students exhibited enthusiasm, actively participated, and formed new friendships. The day concluded with smiles and a sense of comfort as the students eagerly looked forward to the school year ahead.
