Gujarat Day
Gujarat Day is celebrated on 1 May to commemorate the formation of the state of Gujarat in 1960. It was marked with enthusiasm and pride by students of Classes III to V from 23 April to 30 April 2025. The celebrations aimed to instil cultural awareness and regional pride among young learners.
Students of Class III enthusiastically participated in a Bandhani tie-dye activity, introducing them to one of Gujarat’s most iconic textile arts. Under the guidance of their teachers, students learned the basic technique of tying small sections of fabric with thread to create beautiful dot patterns when dyed.
Students of Class IV participated in a vibrant Gujarati Storytelling Session aimed at promoting the regional language and oral tradition. Students narrated short folk tales, panchtantra stories and moral stories in Gujarati with expressive voice modulation, gestures and props.
Students of Class V showcased their acting talents in a Gujarati Role Play Activity, bringing to life historical figures, folk characters and everyday Gujarati personalities. Students prepared and performed short skits entirely in Gujarati, highlighting the culture, values and humour of Gujarat.
The Gujarat Day celebration was a great success and witnessed enthusiastic participation from all the students. It served as a joyful and educational experience, fostering a deep appreciation for the state's rich culture and heritage.
