Chamber of Commerce Excursion
The students of class IV went on an educational visit to the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) on 23 April 2025 to learn about different types of fibres and how fabrics are made. It was an exciting experience where students explored the world of textiles. At SGCCI, the students saw various kinds of fibres like cotton, polyester, silk, and wool. They were shown how cotton is cleaned, spun into thread, and then used to make fabric. These steps were explained with samples. Students also learned about natural fibres (like cotton from plants and wool and silk from animals) and man-made fibres like polyester and nylon. The information helped them understand how different fibres are used to make clothes. One of the most enjoyable parts of the visit was seeing block printing. The students watched how wooden blocks with designs were used to print colourful patterns on fabric. It was interesting and fun to learn how beautiful designs are created in such a simple way. The visit to SGCCI gave the students a clear understanding of the fibre-to-fabric process. It was a fun and meaningful learning experience.
