Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in coordination with various Ministries, Departments, and organizations, has launched an awareness campaign titled "Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs". The campaign aims to spread awareness about the ill effects of drugs and cultivate a collective commitment to making India drug-free.
The substance use crisis has significantly impacted the youth. To address this, the campaign seeks to foster a supportive environment in schools, families, and communities to eliminate the risks associated with substance use, thereby promoting overall well-being and development.
In collaboration with NCB, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is launching an E-pledge campaign titled "Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs". This is a step towards ensuring a healthy and drug-free environment.
The campaign is implemented in two steps:
1. E-Pledge Campaign: Schools encouraged students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders to take the E-pledge from 5 June 2024 to 26 June 2024.
2. Commemoration Activities: Schools encouraged programs that empower students towards a healthy life and spread awareness against drug abuse to contribute towards a "DRUG-FREE INDIA".
Class VI: The students of Class VI organized a bookmark making activity themed “say No to Drugs” to promote drug awareness among students. This activity aimed to engage students creatively while educating them on the harmful effects on drug abuse. Students were encouraged to design their bookmarks with slogans, drawings and messages promoting a drug free lifestyle. The book marks created were diverse, displaying powerful messages and artistic talent.
Class VII: The students of Class VII enthusiastically participated in a Haiku writing activity centered on the theme "Say yes to life, no to drugs, " crafting evocative poems within the traditional 5-7-5 syllable structure highlighting the dangers and promoting awareness through poignant verses.
Class VIII: The students of Class VIII participated in a creative activity promoting a drug-free lifestyle, students are more likely to retain the information and internalize the message. Jingles were performed incorporating music and rhythm into educational content. The enthusiasm displayed by the class during this activity further accentuates the effectiveness of these creative approaches in reinforcing positive messages.
Class IX: Students of Class IX prepared creative and informative posters on "Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs." It included sarcastic comments, pictures, comic strips, and dialogues that were highly engaging and likely to capture the attention. The poster used a mix of humour and direct messaging to discourage substance use and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Class X: It was most enthusiastic and inspiring to see the students of class X-A & B incorporating environment friendly material like leaves, flowers, twigs etc. to design posters / paintings on the ‘SAY YES TO LIFE, SAY NO TO DRUGS’ showcasing creativity here at DPS Tapi. With strong determination to promote a drug-free India. With the objective of raising awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspiring a positive change, the school organized various activities that displayed the spirit and commitment of our student community.
Class XI: Students have made posters with beautiful slogans where they inspire themselves for healthy living and purity of minds with a concern of “Say yes to life, No to drugs”
Class XII: Understanding the dangers of substance abuse and exploring alternative paths to fulfilment and creates a supportive environment where each voice is heard and valued, Class XII (Sc. & Com.) students expressed their views through article writing on “Say yes to life and no to drugs”.
