8TH DPST MIP
The 8th DPST Model Indian Parliament, held on 4 February 2025, saw enthusiastic participation from Class VII and IX students, who represented Ministers and Cabinet Ministers from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including members of the Ruling and Opposition parties. The session started with Question Hour followed by Zero Hour in which the issue of the recent stampede in Prayagraj was raised as a matter of urgent public concern. In the second session young parliamentarians had a discussion on the bill featuring engaging debates on the pressing issue of "One Nation, One Election" where they examined its feasibility, advantages, challenges, and impact on governance, financial efficiency, and electoral integrity.
The session witnessed active participation of the students, representing different political perspectives, debating the merits and demerits of the proposed bill.
The event enhanced students’ political analysis, research, and public speaking skills while fostering collaborative decision-making and consensus-building—essential traits of future policymakers. Through MIP, students gained valuable insights into democratic processes, strengthening their ability to articulate opinions and propose solutions for national progress.
